Who We Are

We are Mehdi and Daniel Taghavi—two brothers, two architectural designers—one shared vision: to use design to bridge cultures, celebrate context, and elevate human experience.

Together, we bring over 35 years of combined international experience in architecture, interior design, project management, and construction—spanning the Middle East, North America, Central America, Asia, and Africa. Our professional paths have taken us through half a dozen countries, multiple markets, and every phase of design and construction—from concept and schematic design through documentation, project management, and on-site supervision.

Mehdi Taghavi

With over 21 years of international and U.S. experience, Mehdi has built a multidisciplinary career grounded in both creativity and precision. His portfolio spans Dubai, Oman, Iran, Iraq, Costa Rica, Canada, and the United States, encompassing luxury residential, commercial, adaptive-reuse, and Indigenous community projects.

Early in his career, Mehdi led design teams on large-scale office towers, mixed-use complexes, hotels, and royal residences across the Arabian Gulf, where he mastered the integration of complex systems and high-end detailing. After relocating to San Diego, he transitioned into high-end coastal residential architecture, developing a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, spatial intimacy, and design-build coordination.

In the U.S., Mehdi has held senior leadership roles at established firms—including Tucker Sadler Architects and Tawaw Architecture Collective, where he oversaw culturally grounded, community-driven projects for Indigenous clients across the U.S. and Canada, including culturally-sensitive wellness centers, healing lodges, and housing prototypes that combine Indigenous design methodologies, environmental sensitivity, and human-centered planning.

Mehdi earned the AIA Henry Adams Medal of Excellence, the President’s Award, and multiple sustainable design competition awards for adaptable housing concepts and net-zero designs. He holds a Master of Architecture from New School as well as NCARB-accredited bachelor’s in architectural engineering from Ajman University (UAE) and has completed multiple certifications in engagement for indigenous design and place-based research.

Licensure-eligible in the U.S., Mehdi approaches architecture as both an art and a social responsibility, blending technical depth with emotional intelligence—designing spaces that inspire belonging, healing, and resilience.

Together

Our collective philosophy is rooted in one belief: Architecture is a dialogue between site and soul, vision and reality.

We strive to design spaces that are authentic, sustainable, and emotionally resonant—from modular housing systems and Indigenous community centers to bespoke villas and adaptive-reuse developments.

Every project we take on is a story—a collaboration between people, culture, and environment. Together, we continue to shape a design practice that reflects our shared values of integrity, curiosity, and craftsmanship, where architecture becomes more than a profession—it becomes a way of connecting human stories through built spaces.
